One of the best parts about living in this house is abutting Mountain View Park. Why? 1. This is a quiet and private park; the primary activities involve children playing soccer or families flying kites or playing catch. Saturdayâ™s in the fall and spring are the busy days until 2pm or so, and the rest of the week itâ™s exceptionally quiet. In the summertime, itâ™s vacant. 2. Since there are no overhead lights in the field behind the house, the field is vacated by sundown. 3. We have all the privacy we need â“ there are never park visitors sitting or playing close to the house, in part due to the line of trees as well as signs the Staff puts out on soccer days asking people to sit on the opposite side from the homes. If desired, there is also the option of growing vines or ivy on the fence or on the opposite side of the wall fairly quickly, which allows you to control your level of privacy desired. In the summer when weâ™re in the pool the park is vacant. 4. The expansive views provided by the park are spectacular. It makes us feel like our backyard is as large as the park â“ without having to mow or maintain it! Watching the sun setting behind Camelback Mountain or observing natureâ™s light shows during monsoon season are sights to behold. 5. Easy access to the park is fantastic for children or adults or dog owners who love outdoors recreation â“ the park offers everything from tennis to basketball to volleyball to simply sitting under a tree and watching the cloudless sky! 6. The Community Center offers after school programs for elementary school children (great for working parents), and provides indoor basketball, foosball and pool for teens. 7. The park also affords direct access to the gem in Scottsdaleâ™s park system â“ the 13 mile multi-use path, which takes you through the lush greenbelt all the way to Tempe. 8. The park makes an ideal place for family gatherings or a party behind your home in the park, the park staff will actually bring over picnic tables and trash cans and remove them for you after the event. Weâ™ve held many of our sonâ™s birthday parties in the park when he was younger. Makes for a great event with easy clean up â“ no small feat with a large group of little boys!
