The system that is installed in this home is a state of the art Home Automation System that includes a combination of Control4 and Lutron Lighting and Shading solutions. The system allows the user to remotely access and control lighting, hvac, security, shades, cameras, audio, video sources, etc. The system can be easily upgraded to include the ability to control door locks, remotely open/close garage doors, additional lighting loads, and set up events to truly automate the system, for example, when you open the garage door, and it is night time, the lights will automatically turn on, or when you arm the security system, it can automatically turn off all TVs, music, lights, set the HVAC to a particular temperature and lock all the doors.
The house is configured and wired two different ways. There are normal cable and network jacks wired throughout the house that are run back to a panel in the Master Bath closet. There are also several CAT5e and CAT6 wires ran from various TV locations in each room to the main equipment rack in the Theater. There are several RG6 and CAT5e cables that connect the main rack to the panel as well. There is a very high quality HDMI matrix switcher currently installed that allows the video source to be installed in the theater rack and distributed to each tv location. This eliminates the need to have local equipment like cable and satellite boxes installed at each TV location which also helps to allow the TV to be simply hung on a wall. Most rooms are also wired for sound and have speakers installed in the ceiling. These speakers all run back to the main rack in the theater and are hooked into a large switch that allows multiple sources to be played in various rooms in the house.
