Catch-and-Release Fishing Lake Anthem's four-acre catch-and-release fishing lake is stocked with Red Ear Sunfish, Black Crappies, Blue Gills, Channel Catfish, and Large Mouth Bass. Residents may fish in the lake with barbless hooks only. Daisy Mountain Railroad The Daisy Mountain Railroad is a 24-inch gauge railroad located in the Anthem Community Park at Anthem. Featured during the ride is a trestle across a small lake, a tunnel through a faux rock outcropping, lush green landscaping, several sparkling water falls and an eye-catching playground for young children.Cost: $3 (Anthem residents with ID); $3.50 (Non-residents); $28.00 (Book of 14 Tickets - only $2 per ride!)Birthdays and Special Events Pricing: One Ride Tickets: $2.00 per person. Unlimited Ride Bands: $3.50 per person. The motive power on the line is provided by a steam-outline engine built by Jerry Shipman of J&E Enterprises in Chandler, Arizona. The engineer sits in the locomotive cab as the motor, which is actually in the tender, pushes the locomotive along the track. Three comfortable and well-built coaches and a caboose fill out the rolling stock roster. The leisurely ride lasts about 10 minutes. Anthem Skate Park The Anthem Skate Park offers 14,000 square feet of concrete skating area with a 1,500-square-foot bowl that's six feet deep. It has several grinding rails, jumps and a couple of high banks. The skate park is open from 7:00am to 9:30pm in the summer and 8:00am to 9:30pm in the winter. Liberty Bell Park and Splash Pad The Anthem Community Council (ACC) Liberty Bell Park and Splash Pad is one of Anthem's many pocket parks located within the Anthem community. Operated by the ACC, the park features a children's playground, sitting and picnic areas, and a very popular splash pad that helps to cool off our young residents on very hot days. The Anthem Community Center offers a variety of aquatics programs including private/group swim lessons, diving lessons and teams, Aquabats Recreational Swim Team and the competitive Anthem Dolphin Swim Team. The park, located at 40106 N. Liberty Bell Way, is open from sunrise to sunset; while the splash pad is open daily to the public from 10am- 6:30pm, operating seasonally, and closing for the fall and winter months. Youth Activities The Anthem Community Center offers a variety of youth activities including camps, cheer, computer classes, dance, gymnastics, music classes and much more. There's something for everyone at every age. Anthem Community Center Preschool The Community Center offers Preschool classes for ages 3-5. The preschool curriculum enriches social and emotional behavior, physical activity, and both cognitive and language development. Our programs are designed to promote a love of learning. Classes include Preschool Preparatory Academy for 2's and Preschool for 3-4's and Pre-Kindergarten for 4-5's. The preschool classes have a teacher-student ratio of 1:8. Both the 3/4 and 4/5 classes include library enrichment once a month, a 30-minute computer technology class bi-weekly, and P.E. and music classes weekly. Anthem Community Center Camps The Community Center has seasonal camps with themed activities including arts and crafts, backyard and gym games, rock climbing, computers, movies, the Adventure Playground, field trips, special guest speakers and much more. Choose from more than six themes, such as: Crafty Kids, Rockwall, Ultimate Sports, Zumbatomic, Yoga, or water games. Add extras (at additional cost) such as treat bags, activities, more food. Fee: Starts at $155 Private Pool Party The Private Pool Party includes use of pool BBQ area, lap pool, leisure pool, diving well, Big Splash Water Park, wading pool, and lifeguard staffing. Private pool parties are available on Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 7:15pm and 10:00pm. Any private party of 100 or more people must provide an off-duty officer at their expense. Health & Fitness The Anthem Community Center offers a variety of health and fitness programs including hiking, kung fu, community CPR and first aid training, group exercise classes as well as personal training. If you're interested in trying a Zumba, Pilates, Yoga or a Power Step class. Anthem Hiking Club The Anthem Hiking Club, formerly known as The Mountain Toppers, takes fun to new heights! Meet with hikers of all ages and levels twice a month to traverse different trails throughout Arizona. The hikes range in difficulty from 0 – 5, and cost between $10 and $20. Transportation to the trailhead is provided from the Anthem Community Center. Adult Sports The Anthem Community Center offers a variety of adult sports including basketball, football, ultimate frisbee, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball.
