In a word, we think of our home as GREEN. We drive electric vehicles, so we had EV plugs installed on both sides of the garage. To offset the power usage, we got a large solar array that powers both cars, and then some! (The electric bill savings are fantastic.) It is a fully owned system... so you really save. That green thinking didn't stop with the solar system. The first of many things we fell in love with in our home is the upgraded kitchen. The sliding cabinets and customized storage drawers make cooking and cleaning up so much easier and really maximize the space. The kitchen has also been maintained with natural cleaners, which make the deep countertops ideal for all sorts of culinary projects, like bread and pasta making! Not to mention the convection oven, which has been a baking dream. We carefully upgraded flooring only when the previous flooring wore out. There is new carpet throughout any area that had carpet. We have not lived in the home since it was installed to make it nice for new owners. We made the choice to upgrade our toilets to quiet, dual-flush models that have saved a good amount of water. Overall, so much of our home we've been able to lift and make shine though love and care, but there are a few things we've fully upgraded within the past 5 years in addition to the solar system: HVAC (with Nest thermostat), dishwasher, sliding glass door, and garage door opener. Being environmental thinkers, we've taken care to eliminate the use of chemicals both inside and outside our home. This is important for all life, but for us it's especially important for our family. We built two raised planters to grow a few herbs and veggies. Then, wanting to enjoy our backyard and golf course view more, we had a custom-built patio professionally installed. Our tortoise loves to munch on whole oranges, so we planted a baby lemon and lime tree, too. Coming into this home, we hope you'll see the love and care we've put into it. We're really proud of the eco-smart choices we've made to keep our home bright, healthy, and several steps along the path of reducing our carbon footprints.
